57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc. On its 30th birthday, an astoundingly aromatic nose, mixed with ultimate class. You know from the bouquet that this wine has innate glycerol - and it does. All-invasive, all-conquering on the palate, in big tulip glasses and after 3 hours' decanting - only Lafite needs this. Huge and voluptuous, becoming richer with each passing year, which is an enduring Lafite characteristic. Finishes on a mocha note. A Rembrandt of a wine!. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
