The following condition report has been provided by Alvarez Conservation Services, New York, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's:

Overall Condition: This watercolor and gouache on paper laid down on board by the artist is in very good condition overall. Structural Condition: This composition is executed on paper that was laid on board by the artist at the time of execution, evidenced by the medium overlaying the board in the edges. The paper and board are structurally intact and do not present tears, paper losses, or distortions. The artwork is properly set into an acid-free well mount for presentation. Visual Condition: The paper is mildly oxidized from contact with acidic material and a natural process of aging due to light exposure. This is visible throughout the recto in the areas of raw paper and lighter pigment. This degree of oxidation is expected for a work of this composition and vintage. The medium remains well preserved and the colors are strong.
