the carved wood figure modelled as the Amitabha Buddha, the face with downcast eyes and tranquil expression, the right hand raised and the left hand slightly lowered, the hair arranged in small, spiral curls (rahotsu) rising into the ushnisha, the open robe falling in drapes, urna to the forehead, on a later wood stand

width 42.5 cm. 16 ¾ in.
