A rare large famille-verte scroll weight
Qing dynasty, Kangxi period
the rectangular weight brightly enamelled and gilt to the top and sides with rectangular panels enclosing flower-heads borne on leafy stems and all reserved on a green dot ground, each end pierced with a cash symbol and similarly enamelled, the top surmounted by a high relief curled branch handle, the painted base with stems of bamboo
Length 35.5 cm, 14 in.
Small areas of restoration to four of the tips of the foliage handle, loss to high relief decoration beneath the central arched handle and a circa 6 mm., shallow flake to the top side edge of the rim.
