each standing on a lotus base with hands clasped together, wearing a long tunic and a celestial scarf around the neck, covered overall in gilt with traces of polychrome, all supported on a rectangular base 

Height 63.5 cm, 25 in.

Both figures have areas of flaking to the black and gilt-lacquer decoration, chips and cracks to the celestial scarf and restoration to the left top section of the scarf on the right hand figure (as photographed in the catalogue), loss to the front section of the topknot on the right hand figure and age cracks and minor losses to the gilding and lacquer on the faces.
