A Longquan celadon 'lotus' jar
boldly carved around the exterior with a band of large lotus blooms above a band of upright lappets around the base, covered overall in an unctuous celadon glaze save for the rim and the foot ring burnt orange in firing
Diameter 32 cm, 12½ in.
The jar has two long hairline firing cracks encircling the base with further shorter spurs extending across the base, the rim has been polished and there are glaze scratches around the body.
