A blue and white 'frog' kendi
Ming dynasty, 16th century
naturalistically painted and modelled as a crouching frog, with short spout issuing from its mouth and tall hexagonal trumpet-shaped handle supported on its back
Height 20 cm, 7⅞ in.
There is a circa 8cm., diam restored break to the front of the frogs head and spout, some fritting to the knopped rim of the handle and light glaze scratches.
