each of flared from rising from a circular foot, with leaf-moulded handles terminating in flowerheads and palmettes, from a design by Jean-Charles-François Leloy (fig.1), painted en grisailles with emblems of the signs of the Zodiac, within wreaths divided by finials issuing leaves, reserved on a claret-ground bands, below panels inscribed with the months of the year, the plain lower part painted and gilt with torchères reserved on crossed laurel branches suspended from bamboo form posts above palmettes and terracing, the foot with bands of stiff leaves and egg and dart pattern bands on a claret-ground band, printed crowned LP marks, dated 1837, incised marks
