42 albumen prints (approx. 215 x 280mm., or the reverse), mounted recto only on card mounts (328 x 460mm.), 33 captioned and signed by the photographer Scowen & Co. in the negative, captioned by hand in German in ink on the reverse, housed in a contemporary fitted buckram box with red label on the spine titled 'Ceylon: Colombo, Kandy, Nowara-elia', some fading, spotting and stains to mounts and occasionally to images, box stained and slightly worn

A very good collection of portraits and views of Ceylon.
