A finely bound large album of photographs showing the opulent interiors of the Bolivan tin magnate Simon I. Patiño's (1862-1947) European-style mansions in Cochabamba and Portales. Patiño spared no expense to furnish his houses which were finished with the finest imported materials available at the time, including Carrara marble, French wood, Italian tapestries and delicate silks. The rooms, galleries, reception rooms, games rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms were styled with influences from classical antiquity through to Art Deco, including rooms themed as Etruscan, Greek, Pompeii, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Robert Adam, Imperial, and 'modern'.
