A mahogany, ebony and rosewood marquetry cabinet-on-stand, second quarter 19th century


in Dutch 17th century style, the ripple moulded cornice above a frieze drawer and two cupboard doors depicting hunting scenes, the interior with an arrangement of ten drawers depicting cats, the stand with a secretaire drawer on barley twist legs joined by a shaped x-stretcher on bun feet, painted inscription to interior of one cupboard door 'from the sale at ALTON TOWERS, LORD SHREWSBURY'S 1857.'
