Anonymous sale, London, Christie's South Kensington, 26 April 2006, lot 181.

A copy after the painting of almost identical dimensions, dated to circa 1530, acquired for the Royal Collection by Charles I and today at Hampton Court (inv. no. 406069).1 Formerly attributed to Titian, it has now been suggested that that painting may be identified as one of a small group of works by the artist's younger brother, Francesco di Gregorio Vecellio (circa 1490-1559/60).
