Jean-Paul Sartre, Pont des Arts, Paris

gelatin silver print, signed in ink in the margin, 1946, printed later

image: 14 by 9 ⅜ in. (35.6 by 23.8 cm.)

Please note the colors and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings.

This print, on double-weight paper with a slightly pebbled surface, is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of Cartier-Bresson's later prints, scattered deposits of original retouching are visible when examining the print in raking light.

In the margins, there is a faint linear impression running parallel to the edges of the image, visible only in raking light. The margin corner tips are gently bumped.

On the reverse the following are written in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'HCB40 AGP,' '239,' and 'Z.268.'

Please note that this work is sold unframed.
