This present lot is the sketch for the painting, sold in these rooms (30 Sept 2009, lot 70). Hunter also executed drypoints of a similar composition in reverse, an example of which was sold in these rooms as part of The Colourists: Pictures from the Harrison Collection (12 June 2018, lot 126). Another version is held by The Hunterian Art Gallery, University of Glasgow.
