Oil on canvas

Signed twice and dated lower right;

signed, dated and inscribed VII-VIII on the reverse

65 x 81 cm (unframed); 68.5 x 85.3 cm (framed)

This work is in very good condition. The canvas is perfectly flat and the paint surface well preserved. A fine network of unobtrusive hairline craquelure is visible in isolated parts. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals two retouched spots near the upper left corner and a small retouched dent in the centre just above the lower edge.
