the hemispherical wood bowl with slightly raised peak, decorated in gold hiramaki-e on a black lacquer ground with maru ni sanmai sasa mon [three leaves of bamboo grass within a circle crest] and peaches among scrolling foliage, the gold lacquer rim forming a stylised flowerhead, the red lacquer interior with scattered rectangular shapes imitating kirikane, fitted wood storage box
