Philadelphia: Printed by William Fry, 1814


4to (257 x 203 mm). Errata leaf, 6 folding engraved maps, and 8 folding charts and diagrams; browning, foxing, and some staining, marginal dampstaining at front, 2 maps with repairs to long closed tears, offsetting to engravings, partial blindstamp to errata leaf. Contemporary marbled sheep, red morocco lettering piece to spine; joints starting; bookplate removed from front pastedown.


Second issue, using the same sheets as the first edition of 1803, but with a new title-page dated 1814. The "first thorough American survey of the lower Mississippi and Gulf regions" (Howes).
