Description

Dubroca, Louis

L'Itineraire des Francais Dans La Louisiane. Paris: Dubroca, Fuchs Veuve Deveaux and Rondonneau, 1802

12mo (178 x 100 mm). Half title and large folding map: Carte de la Louisiane et du cours du Mississipi avec les Colonies Anglaises, by Guillaume Delisle (640 x 490 mm) with handcoloring; light toning, heavier to first and last leaves. 19th-century marbled boards. Cloth case.

A rare French imprint promoting the possession of Louisiana during its brief return to France between Spanish and American ownership, a scant six months from November 1802 to April 1803. The large folding map is an update of Delisle’s famous map.
