Study for The Life of Pigeons

signed Fischl and dated '87 (upper left)

oil on coated paper

35 by 46 in.

88.9 by 116.9 cm.

Executed in 1987.

This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is hinged at the edges of the reverse to the backing board. There are tonal and textural variations throughout the surface of the work, including scratches to the pigment, smudges and studio splash, inherent to the artist's working method and chosen media. There is light undulation throughout the sheet, most notably along the left and right edges. There is evidence of handling wear to the corners of the sheet, visible upon very close inspection. Framed under Plexiglas.

Framed dimensions: 39¼ by 50⅛ in. (99.7 by 127.3 cm.)
