Charles Erdman Richter (1745-1829), maître in 1784
Erdman was born in Saxony but is recorded in Paris by 1781, and his workshop was established in the Rue Traversière in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. He is known to have also completed pieces for Jean-Henri Riesener and Johan Gottlieb Frost, the Paris agent of the leading German cabinetmaker David Roentgen. He received several commissions from Monsieur, the brother of Louis XVI, and continued working into the Empire period, supplying the Imperial Garde-Meuble in 1811.
