Height: 26 in (66 cm)

Very good condition overall for an object of this great age, with wear consistent with prolonged use. Minor nicks, chips, scratches, and abrasions in places. Old erosion and loss, highly patinated, to the top rear edge of the mask. Some other minor wear to the edges. A few modern paint marks and scuffs to the surface. As visible in the catalogue illustration, some splits and wear to the fiber attachment on the lower half of the mask. A patch of resin near the proper right nostril. The face with a very fine aged patina, with extensive remains of the original pigments. The back with an exceptionally deep, aged, smoke-encrusted patina, including to the original bite stick. The interior of the mask inscribed in black ink: “F. & M. Wright.” Mounted on a modern metal stand.
