The Nike “Air Jordan” is one of the most iconic designs in the history of both streetwear and basketball, and is a key part of the origin of the Air Jordan brand for Nike. Designed by Peter Moore, former Tar Heel and NBA All-star Michael Jordan wore Air Jordan 1s in 1984 and 1985.

The University of North Carolina, an Air Jordan sponsored team, has a long and rich history in the NCAA. The ‘Tar Heels’ have won six National Championships making them the third-most awarded team of all-time. Notably, The University of North Carolina is the alma mater of the Air Jordan Brand’s namesake Michael Jordan where he was a member of the 1982 National Champions.
