A porcelain compote tazza from the Coalport Service, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Nicholas I (1825-1855)


oval, gilt scalloped rim, the cavetto painted with the badge of the Order of St Andrew on white ground, the cobalt blue border decorated with the badges of the Orders of St George, St Alexander Nevsky, St Vladimir, the White Eagle, St Stanislaus and St Anne within shaped gilt cartouches, gilt palmettes at each handle, blue factory mark faintly visible on the base

height 12cm, 4¾in.; length over handles 40.6cm, 16 in.
