A Fabergé silver and guilloché enamel desk clock, workmaster Michael Perkhin, St Petersburg, circa 1890


square, enamelled in translucent lilac over a chevron guilloché ground, applied with ribbon-tied laurel garlands entwined over batons with pinecone terminals, centred with a white enamel dial within a silver border mounted with a row of seed pearls, inscribed with black Arabic chapters and with rose gold openwork scrolling hands, all within a chased leaf-tip silver border with rosette corners, an ivorine reverse and a silver strut inscribed 'Ned. zav.' in Cyrillic, in a fitted wooden case, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 1083
