triangular, enamelled in translucent Prussian blue over sunburst engine-turning, the aperture bordered by a row of seed pearls and mounted by silver garlands suspending from an applied rose gold tied ribbon, the frame bordered by a silver mount engraved with leaves, on two bun feet, an ivory reverse whose silver strut is also triangular with a curved lower support, struck to the lower edge and strut with workmaster’s initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 56217


Acquired by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna on 8 December 1897 from Fabergé’s St Petersburg branch for 160 rubles
