A gold, enamel and pearl-set lever watch with chatelaine

circa 1790, no.1051


gilded full plate movement, lever escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved balance cock, flat three arm balance, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gold hands, winding aperture at 6, case back with translucent blue enamel over engine-turned ground, bezels set with a row of split pearls, the bow set with a diamond, the back centred by enamel portrait of a cherub within an oval diamond-set frame, together with a matching gold, split pearl, enamel and diamond-set chatelaine, the pendant terminals decorated with a hard stone seal and winding key, also with an additional associated short gold chain and t-bar winding key
