Overall in very good condition. This chic and comfortable chaise longue is easily adjustable in five positions. The original gilding exhibits a variegated surface with a range of maroon and charcoal undertones as a result of gentle oxidation and wear to the coating over time. The metal surfaces throughout present with scattered scratches, abrasions, edgewear and occasional flaking and small losses to the gilding consistent with age and gentle use. The wool upholstery appears to have been sensitively replaced at some point in the history of the work and is in excellent condition overall with very light surface soiling consistent with use. The proper right corner of the seatback with a minor area of dried adhesive residue to the wool, not visually distracting. A highly functional and charming piece by Royère.
