'Negative #74' (Chicken Parts)

gelatin silver print, mounted, signed, titled, and dated in pencil on the reverse, 1939

image: 9 ½ by 7 ⅝ in. (24.1 by 19.4 cm.)

Please note the color and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. This early print, on paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. When examined closely in raking light, a one-inch hairline scratch which does not appear to break the emulsion is visible at the center. The mount measures 17 by 14 1/4 in. It is faintly age-darkened at the periphery. There is some minor soiling, a few scuffs, and, in the lower left corner, a few deposits of indeterminate nature. The reverse of the mount is age-darkened in even bands running parallel to the edges. There is some minor soiling. When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph does not appear to fluoresce.
