Mr. Sohal met John Hurt at the BFI, London, at the premiere of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Mr. Hurt looked at the poster and said in a deep voice 'I am not an elephant. I am not an animal. I am a human being. I am a man'.  These poignant words made the hairs on the back of Mr. Sohal's neck stand on end. 

It is rare for anyone to have an original poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs, and video/DVD sleeves.

This film was directed by David Lynch and stars Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt, and Anne Bancroft. It tells the true story of John Merrick, who was born heavily disfigured, and how a surgeon tries to rescue him. The film won the big three at the Oscars - Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor for John Hurt.
