Description

Spider-Man (2002) Poster, US, Advance, withdrawn, Signed by Stan Lee

Unframed: 40 x 27 in. (101.6 x 68.6 cm)

Mr. Sohal met Stan Lee at a private signing in London. This poster was printed in America for Spanish-speaking audiences. This advance poster was released throughout the summer of 2001 and features the Chrysler Building and the twin towers in New York. There were copyright issues with using an image of the Chrysler Building. However, before this matter was resolved, this poster was withdrawn after the terrorist attack on 11th September 2001.

It is rare for anyone to have an original poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs, and video/DVD sleeves.

This film was directed by Sam Raimi and written by David Koepp. The film is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It was the first in the popular Spider-Man trilogy. The cast includes Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Cliff Robertson, and Rosemary Harris. Peter Parker, a geeky teenager, gets bitten by a genetically-modified spider and develops super-human spider abilities, that he eventually uses to fight the forces of evil.
