This film, which received critical acclaim when released, was written and directed by the multi-talented Barbet Schroeder, and was his theatrical feature film directorial debut. The film's soundtracks was composed and played by the legendary British band Pink Floyd. The film took its inspiration from the 60s counterculture of drug addiction and free love.
