K. Ertz, Josse de Momper der Jüngere (1564–1635), Freren 1986, pp. 234 and 582, no. 423, reproduced p. 234, fig. 256 (as possibly autograph, circa 1620–30).

Klaus Ertz notes that he had not examined this painting in person when he included it in the catalogue raisonné as ‘possibly autograph’. He also notes that the staffage may be by a different hand. The composition is a variant of another winter landscape by De Momper and Jan Brueghel the Younger, with the same houses, windmill, and church in the distance, though with different figures on the path, and a tree in the centre of the composition.1
