This composition exists in several autograph versions by Jan Breughel the Younger, including that in the Ardenne collection, Dordrecht,1 and the painting sold at Sotheby’s, London, 14 December 2000, lot 10 (for £212,500).2 These works are themselves related to a painting in the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest (in which the basket, tazza and blooms on the ledge are all in slightly different positions), which is ultimately based on designs attributed to Jan Brueghel the Elder.3
