Pair of Chinoiserie Figures
white marble, on veined red marble and green marble bases

bases: 16cm., 6¼in. each
The present marbles relate to a pair of similar figures with Galleria Carlo Virgilio, which have been attributed to the Neapolitan sculptor Giuseppe Sanmartino (1720–1793). The Chinoiserie movement enjoyed particular popularity in Naples in the 18th century.
