The present cameo is a particularly beautiful work signed by Antonio Pazzaglia. Pazzaglia was a respected gem-engraver and medallist. The son of Stefano Pazzaglia (died after 1785), he trained with his father and is mentioned by numerous contemporary authors including Giulianelli and Guattani. Examples of his work are in the Cabinet des Médailles and the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.
