The watercolour: with J.W. Vokins, London, by 1884
One Tree Hill lies to the south of London and takes its name from an ancient oak tree that Queen Elizabeth reputedly picnicked under in 1602. De Wint stands on its summit looking north, towards the metropolis beyond.
