This specimen displays botryoidal ("bunch of grapes") growth, high translucency, and its characteristic blue hue.
A mineral often derived from zinc and lead ores, hemimorphite is a hydrated zinc silicate that gets its name from the unusual crystalline form that terminates in dissimilar faces.
