An outstanding Junyao purple-splashed dish

Song dynasty

宋 鈞窰天青釉紫斑折沿盤


well potted with shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapered foot with three spur marks on the base to a wide everted rim, unctuously applied overall with a sky-blue glaze thinning at the rim and footring, the interior and exterior liberally and extensively adorned with vibrant reddish-purple splashes accentuated with green dapples
