window size: 37.5 by 55cm.; 14¾ by 21½in.; sheet size: 39.5 by 57.5cm.; 15½ by 22½in.

framed: 54.5 by 67cm.; 21½ by 26½in.

We are grateful to Hugh Fowler-Wright for his kind assistance with the cataloguing for the present work.

On wove paper, the sheet is attached to the mount with strips of adhesive tape at sheet edges verso with a deckle at right, a straight upper edge and remaining sheet edges slightly uneven, in keeping with Artist's materials. The work appears to be in very good overall condition. There are a few pale handling marks and smudges in places, in keeping with Artist's working method. There is some discolouration along the extreme edges, not visible in the present mount. There is a small scratch (1.5cm in length) in the lower right corner and a few small losses of pigment to the black gouache, most notably in the lower left quadrant. There is possible minor fading to pigments. The work is window mounted and presented in a simple white and gold painted wooden frame, held under glass.
