This work is in good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The work is lightly soiled; however the colors are vibrant. An isolated 1-inch area of spiderweb craquelure is present in a spot of yellow impasto in the lower left, however the media layer and all areas of heavy impasto are stable. A horizontal 2-inch repaired break in the canvas is present at the lower center on the reverse which corresponds to a fine line of inpainting on the other side of the canvas. Under UV: the artist's original pigments fluoresce very strongly, and inpainting is difficult to discern. A faint intermittent band of fluorescence which likely corresponds to inpainting is present along the extreme edges of the canvas. A few 2-inch areas of dark fluorescence within the central quadrants may also correspond to inpainting. The work could be hung as-is .
