Untitled (Hanuman)

55.9 x 38.5 cm. (22 x 15 ⅛ in.)

Maqbool Fida Husain’s distinctive style combines ancient narratives with a modern abstracted aesthetic. Here, the artist portrays the iconic character of Hanuman from the Ramayana. He holds Rama and Lakshmana in one hand and Sita safely in another, an original and charming depiction of Hanuman's loyalty, rendered through Husain’s inimitable, geometric artistic approach.
