the oviform vase with copper-gilt mounts, decorated in coloured cloisonné enamels on a deep blue ground and worked in various thicknesses of gold and silver wire, with sparrows among willow, the foot with a band of floral lappets, seal mark 'Mi' of Miwa Tomisaburo

17.5 cm., 7 in. high

Miwa Tomisaburo was awarded a silver medal at the 1905 Exposition Universelle de Liège and exhibited at the 1910 Japan Britain Exhibition in London.
