A cloisonné enamel vase and cover
Attributed to the Kyoto Namikawa workshop
Meiji period, late 19th century
the rounded oval vase and domed cover with gilt copper mounts including a chrysanthemum (kiku) finial, decorated in coloured cloisonné enamels and worked in various thicknesses of silver wire with tea dust (chakinseki) and mottled green panels depicting butterflies among chrysanthemums, bordered by flower heads and foliage
