each framed group 17 5/8 by 25 1/4 in.; 44.7 by 64.1cm

Each with some small losses and cracks. Very minor restoration. One relief on lower right hand corner with breaks and loose pieces. Some losses and cracks around frames. Gilding refreshed on frames.

A group of twenty-five reliefs with the identical scenes and in polychrome wax, with inscriptions below each scene as well as a date of manufacture, is in the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh (27.10.326). Johann Wilhelm Baur, Joan Guiliam Bouwer, or Bauer  was a German engraver, etcher and miniature painter and was famous for a series of illustrations of Ovid's Metamorphoses
