The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.

This work is in beautiful condition. The copper on which it is painted is flat and supports the paint layer well. There are no signs of any instability. Under ultraviolet light, a few tiny spots of retouching are visible in the dark background. In the shelf, vase, and floral arrangement, there are only a few spots of retouching in the white rose in the center and in the yellow tulip in the upper left. The work should be hung in its current state.
