Black chalk heightened with white chalk on blue-grey prepared paper;

bears numberings in brown ink on the old mount: 1670 and n.116 and bears an old attribution on the old mount, lower center: Del Cav Carlo Maratti 1670

Laid down to an old mount which has subsequently been hinged to a modern decorative mount. There is some slight discoloration to the extremities and two circular stains to the upper half of the sheet. There are other small scattered stains and areas of surface dirt and some abrasions to the lower right corner. The drawing itself remains in predominantly good condition, with the image strong. Sold in a giltwood frame.
