framed: 37⅛ by 34½ in.; 94.3 by 87.6 cm.

This portrait bears similarities with the style of Michael Dahl (1659 - 1743), a Swedish-born portrait painter who worked in England for aristocrats. The sitter here is a lawyer based on his attire and wig, though his identity is unknown.
