Chaumet | Diamond Clip-Brooch, France


Designed as a flowerhead, centering an old mine-cut diamond, framed by old European and single-cut diamonds, the petals further set with numerous old European and single-cut diamonds, further embellished with gold accents, signed Chaumet, Paris, with French assay marks; circa 1933.

Please note this brooch dates to circa 1933 and was featured in the Museé Carnavalet’s 1998 exhibition of Chaumet jewels.

The present brooch is described as an “eglantine” (sweet-brier) clip in the catalogue for the Museé Carnavalet’s 1998 exhibition Chaumet Paris: Two Centuries of Fine Jewellery by Roselyne Hurel and Diana Scarisbrick, page 132.
