A George III Silver Seven-Basket Epergne, Thomas Pitts, London, 1775

in Adam taste, the four leafy scroll feet joined by laurel swags running through rings and hung with ribbon-headed oval shields cast with urns of two designs, the body chased with laurel swags on fluted ground, central boat-shaped basket pierced with pales and ovals and chased with swags, four matching circular and two oval smaller baskets supported on detachable reeded scroll arms, the central basket crested on one side, narrow beaded borders
