the square terrace with cut corners resting on four winged feet, the high spreading foot base chased with acanthus foliage, the bowl applied with marine bulls and horses and a medallion representing Medusa head, plain handles, the cover finial shaped a sitting putto on a terrace pierced with palms and laurel leaves, engraved with the Borghese coat-of-arms, probably after a design by Percier and Fontaine

la terrasse carrée à pans coupés reposant sur quatre pieds en forme de lion ailé, le haut piédouche à base ciselée de feuilles d'acanthe, la coupe appliquée de taureaux et chevaux marins et d'un médaillon représentant une tête de Méduse, les anses unies, le couvercle à prise en forme de putto assis sur une terrasse ajourée de palmettes et feuilles de laurier, gravé des armes Borghèse, probablement d'après un dessin de Percier et Fontaine.

In overall very good condition. Minor scratches commensurate with use. The liner engraved with a crowned B for Borghese. Fully marked.
